Senai is a town and mukim in Kulai District, Johor, Malaysia. It is located on the northeastern coast of Johor.

The town was originally a fishing village until the construction of an oil refinery in 1969 led to its development into an industrial zone. The oil refinery was upgraded to produce more petroleum products in 1982 and became one of the largest refineries in Asia by 1988.

The town's population grew rapidly during the 1980s as people from other parts of Malaysia were drawn to Senai for employment opportunities at the oil refinery or other industries and businesses that were established around it. In 1990, Senai had a population of about 100,000 people and was declared a mukim (a subdivision) by the Malaysian government.

The Senai International Airport is the first airport in Malaysia to be built on reclaimed land. It is located in Senai, Johor, Malaysia. The airport was opened on 1 July 1998 and is the first purpose-built international airport for the state of Johor.
