Benut is a mukim in Pontian District, Johor, Malaysia. It is situated near the border with Singapore and is accessible by road or rail.

The name "Benut" comes from the Malay word for "a place of refuge". The area was once a major rubber plantation and was used as a shelter for fleeing locals during World War II.

It has been reported that Benut has been experiencing a population growth of 11% per year and it is expected to reach 100,000 people by 2020.
