Ayer Hitam

Ayer Hitam is a small town in Johor, Malaysia. The town is located about 30km from the state capital Johor Bahru

Ayer Hitam is simply referred to as Black Water. A lively, bustling town, it is always abuzz with vehicles and people both traveling north and south on the road.

Potters is known for its home decor items such as vases, frames, and jars. You can also see the potter's handiwork.

Ayer Hitam itself is a great place to get souvenirs, but it's also packed with local delicacies that are hard to find elsewhere, like (with details) 'kerepek'.

Some of the famous food items here are prawn crackers, steamed corn, tapioca chips, and the all-time favorite "otak-otak". We provide fresh and pre-packed variations of these for you, at affordable prices.

Located in the district of Batu Pahat, Ayer Hitam is a major intersection that leads to the North-South Expressway. You can go north to Melaka and Kuala Lumpur when going on Ayer Hitam, south to Johor Bahru, or east to Kluang and Mersing.

It was a popular stop for many tour buses and travelers heading from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. Visitors could find souvenir shops, restaurants, and locals selling their vegetables.
